Dentures and Partials

Dentures are used to fill the gaps from lost teeth and assist the facial and jaw muscles continue to function.  Dentures help you eat and speak properly as well as improve your appearance.  They are made out of an acrylic base that support the custom made teeth.

Partial dentures cover only parts of your mouth that have been left open due to lost teeth.  The partial is held in your mouth by clasps that are affixed to the natural remaining teeth.

Fixed partial dentures (also called bridges) are made from crowns that are permanently fitted to remaining teeth; the bridge is cemented into place, and is therefore non-removable.

Both types, complete and partial dentures are removable and need to be handled with care.  They should be cleaned daily and may need to be adjusted periodically.
